Who is the course for?
The course has been designed for staff who are involved, or who have responsibility for their organisations Major Incident Plan, or form part of a major incident team. The course is not restricted to NHS employees, and is ideal for some of the following groups: Public Health, Councils, Police, Military, Fire Brigade, Chemical & Petro-Chemical industries, BASICS Doctors and overseas agencies.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
16+ years of age. Full time employment and written evidence of their required role within the setting of a major incident. Candidates should be from a medical, nursing or a paramedic background.
Certification:
Certificate of Competency. Issued by the Advanced Life Support Group and valid for four years.
Duration:
Three days.
Class Size:
Maximum course size of 24.
Who delivers it?
Delivered by a 8 person multi-disciplinary faculty.
Description:
Attending a MIMMS course with North West Ambulance Service will ensure upon successful completion, that delegates will have the relevant experience required to effectively interact with other agencies at the scene of a Major Incident. Certification is issued by the ALSG(Advanced Life Support Group) and is valid for 4 years.The faculty team is made up of experienced medical practitioners and courses are open to attendees from all agencies and industries. This ensures a lively and interesting debate. We have seen candidates Internationally, for example Brazil, and also those from non-emergency services.
