First Horse on Scene - First Aid for Riders

We are pleased to announce the launch of First Horse on Scene, a new one-day first aid course for riders.

Aimed specifically at equestrian centres, pony clubs and anyone who is involved in equestrian pursuits, the course focuses on the specific accidents and injuries that those who ride or handle horses may encounter and looks at the particular problems faced when providing first aid in rural or remote locations.

The course will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to deal with the initial management of patients involved in riding accidents, enabling them to provide basic life support and emergency first aid whilst waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

Our next First Horse on Scene course is taking place at Warren Farm Equestrian, Formby on 28th August 2011 and places cost £72.00 per person, lunch included.

To book places contact the Training Team on 0870 8330 999 or e-mail barry.eagers@nwas.nhs.uk.
